WHY VISIT LAS VEGAS?

Tour the world

From Paris, to New York, Italy and more – see the world from the Las Vegas Strip!

For a taste of Italy, step onboard a gondola at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas in the Grand Canal Shoppes or admire the Trevi Fountain, located just outside Caesars Palace. Visit the observation deck at the top of the Vegas Eiffel Tower for a romantic experience, with panoramic views over the city’s world-famous casinos and the Fountains of Bellagio. Explore the Big Apple at New York-New York Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, where you can visit iconic landmarks including Grand Central Terminal, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Empire State Building. Don’t forget to head to the Luxor to see the iconic Pyramids of Giza!

Stunning sights

Beyond the Strip, there’s so much more to explore. Experiencing the Grand Canyon’s dramatic views, history, and dusty trails is a sure-fire bucket-list tick. If you’re driving from the Strip, you’ll pass through the Mojave Desert filled with majestic Joshua trees and cactus flowers. Stop off at Eagle Point before heading to the West Rim to spot the ‘eagle’ carved into the rocks. See the canyon from the air on a helicopter ride for an unforgettable experience!

A pit stop at the Hoover Dam is also must-see. Located on the Arizona/Nevada border, this national historic landmark is a world-renowned structure and an impressive feat of engineering. Created by the Hoover Dam, you can also admire Lake Mead with its miles of shoreline.

International cuisine

Las Vegas is well-known for its world-class buffets and celebrity chef restaurants. From giant pancakes with syrup to biscuits and gravy, indulge in some classic American comfort food. Most of the casinos have international buffets which feature cuisine from all over the world, and even luxurious seafood including lobster, Alaskan king crab legs or snow crab legs.

Venture just outside the Strip to eat more like a local for cheaper prices. There are many Chinese restaurants around Vegas’s Chinatown too.

INSIDER TIPS

Harry Reid International Airport/ McCarran International Airport (LAS) is the main airport for Las Vegas, located close to the Las Vegas Strip and offering international flights.

Taxis are easily available, or you could buy tickets for the Monorail which will take you from one end of the Strip to the other, with regular stop-offs.

Las Vegas has a desert climate with very hot dry summers and cooler winter months.

The best time to visit Las Vegas to comfortably enjoy everything the city has to offer is typically during May, June, and September. In these months, the desert sun can be slightly cooler with temperatures in the late 20’s/early 30’s. In July and August, temperatures can reach beyond 40 degrees.

Day trips, including the Grand Canyon, are perfect for the whole family to enjoy. Some hotels on the Strip have indoor mini golf, and virtual reality games – so there are plenty of activities to keep children entertained.

Or visit Cowabunga Bay waterpark for an exciting day out, with several waterslides and other rides. This colourful and well-maintained park is a short drive from Las Vegas and even features a ‘kids cove’ with shallow waters.
