Diversity Spotlight

Aspen Butcher, Customer Care Supervisor, Customer Care

Q:

What woman has positively impacted/inspired you in your career, and what’s one lesson she taught you?

A:

To choose just one is so hard, I have been incredibly lucky to have many strong women inspire me throughout my career. I truly feel I would be doing a disservice to all of them by naming just one so I will say the trait they all share is their inability to be deterred. They have taught me in numerous ways, despite the obstacles you have to fight for what you want and what you believe in.

Q:

As a woman in travel, how has RCI demonstrated inclusion?

A:
I think the reason I struggled to answer the first question is a direct result of RCI’s inclusivity. I have had the pleasure to work with so many strong, capable woman in leadership positions during my tenure at RCI. We grant the opportunity to move through the ranks based on the associate’s ability to do the job not their gender, race, or sexuality.

Q:

Describe one or more characteristics about yourself that you believe led to your success.

A:

I like challenges and to keep myself busy while I work. My path from MSS and Clubs to Web support and SAS was to keep challenging myself and becoming a SAS supe was the logical next step. Most recently was the addition of managing some of our Business Interruption Event processes and 2020 kept me plenty busy with that new challenge!

Q:

What would you tell young women who are just starting to work? What would you like them to know?

A:
Believe in your worth, there will always be people who don’t and sometimes you’ll feel like you’re the only one who does but you’re worth it, so go for it!

Q:

What do you like to do outside of work?

A:

I love stories so if my nose isn’t buried in a paperback or the latest addition to the MCU you can find me going on adventures with my fiancé and our pups.
